March

not sure how to catch up now! But David's birthday cannot be missed. It was on March 8, also the same day as Women's day in Europe, still celebrated more vibrantly by Eastern Europeans.

And it was also Uzgavenas Day which is the Lithuanian celebration for the day before Lent begins. The pagan history is still somewhat recognizable in that it is a time to build a bonfire to get rid of old woman winter. Otherwise people dress up in costumes and eat lots of pancakes and kids go around asking for candy almost like the trick or treat custom. Here are a couple of the neighbors' kids our boys play with at our door.
